Vital Statistics
Circumstances of Disappearance:
Powers was last seen at her home in the 100 block of Granto Road in Harvest, Alabama on July 12, 2008. Her husband stated they both went to bed that night and when he woke up in the morning, she was gone. Powers left her wallet, driver's license and medication behind. Jennifer's three children stayed all night at Jennifer's mother's house. When the children returned home the next morning, Jennifer was gone. He didn't report her disappearance for two weeks.
Additional Details:
She was enrolled in an outpatient drug rehabilitation program at the time of her disappearance. Powers left behind three children, one of whom died of cancer in 2012. Deputies are working with other law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, to search the area. Investigators say they received evidence from search dogs and a device they put in the ground that suggests there may be human remains near the area. A $10,000 reward has been offered for information on what happened to her. MCSO says they believe Powers was a probable homicide victim due to her sudden disappearance in 2008. There has been no sign of her, but investigators do have a person of interest.
