Summary:

Tomoko Ioh, a 41-year-old woman from Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, went missing on October 18, 2009. She left her home mid-morning in her green and silver 1999 Suzuki Grand Vitara. Her vehicle was found abandoned at Wawaloli Beach Park near the Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii that evening, but she has not been located. She remains missing after 16+ years.

Circumstances of Disappearance:

Tomoko Ioh was last seen Sunday (October 18) around 10:30 a.m. leaving her home and operating a green and silver 1999 Suzuki Grand Vitara. At 6 p.m., her vehicle was located at the Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii but she has not yet been found. Her 1999 Suzuki Vitara was parked about 20 yards north of the park's restroom facility. Her family did not know where she was going. Her first language is Japanese and she speaks little English.

Additional Details:

Fire/rescue crews from the Kailua-Kona fire station along with fire department helicopter and rescue boat continued an aerial, land and ocean search Monday (Oct 19) for Tomoko Ioh, who was reported missing Sunday. Crews searched all day near the Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii without finding any information or clues to her whereabouts. Rescue crews have found no trace of Tomoko Ioh, whose vehicle was found unattended Sunday at Wawaloli beach park near OTEC. Kailua Fire Station Captain Sean Sommers told the Hawaii Tribune-Herald information about the missing woman is vague and that search crews haven't found any physical evidence suggesting the whereabouts or condition of Ioh other than her vehicle.
