Vital Statistics

Circumstances of Offense:

Jackson, a 57-year-old resident of Kapa'a, was reported missing on June 23, 2010. On June 24, 2010, she failed to show up for work. After an extensive search, a pig hunter's dogs discovered her remains on July 3, 2010, in a remote, forested area of Keālia on the east side of Kauaʻi. An autopsy revealed she died from blunt-force trauma to the head. She lived in Kapahi where her car was found parked in the driveway with her purse and cell phone inside.

Additional Details:

Glaser was initially identified as a person of interest. At the time, the investigation did not yield sufficient evidence to connect anyone to the crime, but detectives continued to pursue all leads diligently. Jackson worked at HSTA's Kauaʻi office. The Amber Jackson Justice Group (AJJG), formed by Jackson's family and friends, continues to pursue answers for Jackson's tragic death by working with various mainstream unsolved homicide media outlets. A popular podcast and television series called Unsolved Mysteries featured the 2010 unsolved murder of Amber Jackson. Over the years, successive generations of KPD detectives built on prior investigative efforts, re-interviewing witnesses, reviewing evidence, coordinating with other law enforcement agencies, and traveling both interisland and out of state to follow up on leads. These ongoing efforts eventually uncovered new information, culminating in an arrest warrant for Glaser for Murder in the Second Degree. Glaser was charged and pleaded no contest in Hawai'i Island's 3rd Circuit Court in August 2024 to second-degree assault, a class C felony, and ownership and possession prohibited following a shooting in the island's Puna District on April 1, 2023. According to Hawai'i Island police, Glaser shot a 36-year-old man following a violent affray involving six people, some of whom were armed with machetes. A judge sentenced Glaser to four years probation. Court records show that on July 22, a revocation of probation with a $5,000 arrest warrant was issued. Glaser, who has been missing since April 2025, remains at large and went missing from the Hawaiian Acres subdivision on Hawaiʻi Island.
