Summary:

Lewis Hinojosa, a member of the Maniac Latin Disciples gang, killed 19-year-old Giovani Tirado on July 10, 2010, by shooting him multiple times at The Warning Track bar in Racine, Wisconsin, and then attempted to shoot Tirado's brother Gregory. U.S. Marshals have been searching for him ever since, with authorities noting Hinojosa has ties to Texas, Kansas and Mexico.

Circumstances of Offense:

Officers arrived at the bar at about 2:21 a.m. for reports of shots fired in relation to an earlier altercation between several individuals. Giovanni and Gregory Tirado were at the bar when Giovanni Tirado had a verbal altercation in the bar with another man, who was there with a group of men. The group left, but returned later. One of the men then approached Giovanni Tirado, shaking hands with him and acting friendly. Giovanni V. Tirado, 19, was shot multiple times and died on the scene at The Warning Track, 1301 Washington Ave. His brother, Gregory D. Tirado, was battered and suffered minor injuries. Lewis Hinojosa fired the gun. On the way out of the bar, Hinojosa pistol-whipped Giovani's brother, who says the only reason he's still alive is because Hinojosa ran out of bullets.

Additional Details:

Hinojosa, now 40 years old, was 24 at the time when he went on the run. Hinojosa has been on the run since 2010, and some officials believe he may be hiding in plain sight on the open road. A tip was received previously that he may be a truck driver. He may be using another alias, still in the United States, and working as a truck driver. Authorities say Hinojosa has ties to Pearsall, Texas; Garden City, Kansas and Chihuahua, Mexico. He may have fled across the international border to avoid prosecution. Investigators say the Maniac Latin Disciples gang member goes by the nickname "Kamala".
