Summary:
Fidel Silva is wanted for his alleged involvement in a two state crime spree that resulted in the homicides of Catherine Fisher, Jorge Carrasco and Hugo Chavez.
Vital Statistics
Circumstances of Offense:
The crime spree started when suspects drove up next to the SUV where Catherine and two men were inside. The suspects committed a drive-by shooting, killing Catherine. It is believed that one of the two men was the actual target. The suspects travelled approximately 16 hours from East Palo Alto, California to Grand Junction, Colorado. Grand Junction would unfortunately be subjected to a 14-hour long crime wave. The suspects were linked to two armed robberies and a burglary in Grand Junction. Afterwards, they went ahead and committed a “gang related trophy killing”. They drove up beside Jorge and his two friends as they were eating dinner outside a Taco Bell. Mistakenly assuming that Jorge was a gang member, they shot him to death and shot and wounded his two friends. The suspects then drove the approximately 16 hours back to East Palo Alto. That is when they shot and killed Hugo. In the years since the crime spree, every suspect except for Fidel Silva has been arrested and prosecuted. As of this posting, Fidel has an active UFAP (Unlawful Flight To Avoid Prosecution) warrant that was issued by the FBI, according to public PACER records. Articles from 2023 mentioned he was still wanted on his state charges. All of this unfortunately confirms he is still wanted for his alleged involvement in these homicides to this day. Fidel’s fugitive accomplice, Jaime Cardenas was caught in Mexico so Fidel most likely fled there as well.
Additional Details:
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Fidel should contact Crime Stoppers Of Mesa County (to qualify for the potential reward) at 970-241-STOP. Fidel should be considered extremely dangerous.
