Summary:
Marcal was found murdered in Forrest City, Arkansas on Highway 334 in St. Francis County. Marcel was a transgender woman (born a biological male) and was found on the side of the highway wearing women's clothes by a passing motorist. No persons of interest or leads have been developed and Marcel's case has gone cold.

Circumstances of Offense:
Marcal's friend Jennifer Bohannon reported in news interviews that Marcal had left her cousin's house hours before the murder. Marcal had reported she was on her way home. Witnesses reported hearing two gunshots in the area Marcal was found. The investigation of the scene indicated that Marcal had been dragged approximately 200ft by a car and had also been shot. Plaster impressions were made of the tire tracks at the shooting scene. St. Francis County Sheriff's Office stated they collected DNA and two .38-caliber cartridge casings from the scene.
Additional Details:
Marcal was a known in the area as being a "cross dresser" and did not hide the fact that she was transgender. The autopsy was conducted at the Arkansas Crime Lab in Little Rock. A friend reported online that Marcal was "picked on by police, schoolmates, and strangers", would never get into a car with a stranger, and would tell anyone propositioning her that she was transgender.
