Summary:
Juan Manuel Ordaz-Melgoza is wanted for the double homicide of 48-year-old Jose Garcia and a pregnant woman’s unborn child.
Vital Statistics
Circumstances of Offense:
Authorities say that Jose, the pregnant woman and a third individual were sitting in a car in a vacant lot. Juan then drove up to them and got out of his vehicle. That is when Juan allegedly shot Jose and the pregnant woman. Jose and the pregnant woman were rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Tragically, Jose died several days later and while the pregnant woman survived, she lost her child. In 2018, it was determined that Juan fled to Tijuana, Mexico where he was arrested under an alias for an unrelated crime. He had been released from prison before US authorities learned about it. A federal Unlawful Flight To Avoid Prosecution (UFAP) was then issued for Juan’s arrest. As of this posting, Oklahoma County’s warrants database confirms that Juan has active state warrants for two counts of first degree murder. The UFAP warrant is also still active, according to public PACER records.
Additional Details:
Anyone with information on Juan’s whereabouts should contact Oklahoma City Crime Stoppers (to qualify for the potential reward) at (405) 235-7300. Juan should be considered extremely dangerous. Please consider sharing this so that Jose’s family can get justice and answers along with the pregnant woman who lost her child.
