Victor M. Buenrostro is a La Tercera Crips gang member wanted for murder in connection with the March 17, 2012 fatal shooting of Perla Navarro, 22, in Houston, Texas. Buenrostro and his associate Miguel Ángel Villafaña followed a group leaving a nightclub and fired into their vehicle, killing Navarro. Villafaña was arrested and convicted; Buenrostro remains a fugitive.

Circumstances of Offense:
In the early morning on Sunday, March 17, 2012, Victor Buenrostro and a witness got into an argument at a local night club located at 3300 West Fuqua in Houston. Perla Navarro and another witness left the night club with a third witness in their vehicle. Buenrostro and his associate Miguel Ángel Villafaña then followed Navarro and the witnesses in Villafaña's vehicle. Buenrostro fired shots into the vehicle the victim and witnesses were driving in. The witness driver, while attempting to flee, became involved in a traffic accident at the intersection of Chimney Rock and McHard Road. Navarro and one of the witnesses were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital. Navarro was pronounced dead from injuries received during the accident. The other two witnesses suffered non-life threatening injuries. Villafaña was detained at the location of the traffic accident. Buenrostro fled the scene.

Miguel Angel Villafaña (DOB 12-27-84) was charged with murder in the 208th State District Court and was arrested at the scene of the traffic accident. Villafaña was convicted and sentenced to 7 years imprisonment. Victor M. Buenrostro (DOB 5-19-82) was also charged with murder in the 208th State District Court but fled the scene. As of March 2013, the FBI featured Buenrostro as a gang fugitive wanted for murder. He is considered a known member of the La Tercera Crips (LTC) gang. At the time he fled, Buenrostro was believed to be driving a 2002 green Ford F150 pickup truck with Texas license plates #16V-TL9. As of August 2026, Harris County’s court records database confirms that Buenrostro has an active murder warrant and is not in custody. He may have fled to his native country of Mexico.
