Mario Gonzalez San Roman is wanted for the capital murders of his 42-year-old wife, Lorena Gonzalez, and her 38-year-old friend, Homero De Los Santos.
Vital Statistics
Circumstances of Offense:
At the time of the crime, Mario and Lorena were going through divorce and child custody proceedings, and Mario had reportedly violated a protective order several times. Mario had previously been arrested and convicted of making a terroristic threat. Authorities allege that Mario murdered both Lorena and Homero and put their bodies in a residence’s bathtub. Lorena had been stabbed numerous times and Homero died from blunt force head trauma. It is confirmed that Mario fled to Mexico after the murders. He is originally from the state of Tamaulipas and has specific ties to Ciudad Victoria. A federal Unlawful Flight To Avoid Prosecution warrant was issued which as of this posting is still active, according to public PACER records. In 2024, Mario was named one of the Cameron County Sheriff’s Most Wanted fugitives.
Additional Details:
Anyone with information on Mario’s whereabouts should contact Cameron County Crime Stoppers (to qualify for a potential reward) at (956) 350-5551. Mario should be considered extremely dangerous. Please consider sharing this so that the families of Lorena and Homero can get justice and answers in their loved one’s cases.
