Angelina Marie Sicola, a 20-year-old sophomore communication major at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, was found strangled to death inside her apartment on May 2, 2013. She was a dedicated Taekwondo student working toward a second-degree black belt. The case remains unsolved despite extensive investigation.

Early in the morning of May 2, 2013, Angelina was supposed to meet her older sister to drop off a parking pass but never showed up. Several hours later, she had planned to meet her father for a doctor's appointment but failed to appear. When her father did not hear from her, he went to check on her at her off-campus apartment at the Featherstone Apartments in Northeast Colorado Springs. Upon entering her unlocked apartment, he discovered her deceased body inside. Medical examination confirmed she had been strangled to death. The investigation determined that Ms. Sicola was likely killed inside her apartment.
Additional Details:
Over the course of the next several months following her death, investigators conducted extensive interviews with numerous friends, neighbors, co-workers, fellow students, and social media contacts of the victim. Numerous items of evidence were recovered from the crime scene and examined, with forensic examination of both physical and electronic evidence continuing. Despite these efforts, no suspect has been identified and no one has been charged in connection with her death. The Colorado Springs Police Department Cold Case Unit continues to work on the investigation. A $10,000 reward, offered by the family, remains available for information leading to the arrest and conviction of her killer. Angelina's memory is honored through the Angelina Sicola Memorial Scholarship Fund. A memorial service was held on May 8, 2013, at New Life Church in Colorado Springs.
