Summary:
Ricardo Villanueva-Cordova is wanted for the homicide of 27-year-old Michael Sanchez.
Vital Statistics
Circumstances of Offense:
Ricardo and Michael were neighbours in a mobile home park. In the weeks leading up to his homicide, Michael had constant issues with Ricardo’s dog. This included being bit three times and the dog barking excessively. Michael had filed two reports with animal control. The night before Michael would start his new job position, the dog’s barking prevented Michael from going to sleep. That morning Michael confronted Ricardo about the situation. Authorities say that Ricardo followed Michael to a gas station. That is when Ricardo allegedly stabbed Michael 28 times, causing Michael’s death. Ricardo is believed to have fled to Mexico and was indicted by a grand jury a year later on a 1st Degree Murder charge. As of this posting, Ricardo has an active warrant in Bernalillo County’s warrants database. His case in New Mexico’s court records database has no disposition and no filings since 2014.
Additional Details:
Anyone with information on Ricardo’s whereabouts should contact Albuquerque Metro Crime Stoppers at 505-843-STOP. Tips must be sent to Crime Stoppers in order to be eligible for a potential reward. Please consider sharing this so that Michael’s family can get justice and answers in their loved one’s case. Ricardo should be considered very dangerous.
