Vital Statistics
Circumstances of Disappearance:
On Monday, June 30th, 2014, Nefertiri "Neffie" Trader, a 33-year-old mother of three, was last seen around 4:00 a.m. on Freedom Trail in the Saddlebrook community, located off Christiana Road in New Castle, Delaware. A neighbor heard a woman screaming and looked out his second story window. He saw a man, wearing tan shorts and a dark hooded sweatshirt, dragging Trader to her car and putting her in the backseat. A neighbor reported witnessing a man force Neffie into her vehicle, a silver 2000 Acura with Delaware tag 404893, which remains missing to this day. When Trader's mother went to her home around 6:00 pm the following day, she found a smashed loaf of bread in the front yard, cigarettes, coffee, and an unopened condom on the front porch, and Trader's flip flops by the front door, but no sign of Nefertiri. Even though Neffie's kidnapping was witnessed, it would be almost nineteen hours before police learned that Neffie was missing.
Additional Details:
Trader was employed in the housekeeping department at Christiana Hospital and was on medical leave at the time of her disappearance. On February 22nd of 2014 outside the now closed Club Rebel Night Club located in Wilmington, Prince was attacked by a group of men and beaten up. Apparently the 2 were sitting in Neffie's car when 5 or 6 Black Men pulled Prince from the passenger side of the car and began to beat him. Trader wasn't able to give police a lot of information about the suspects, and disappeared before the court hearing took place. In October 2020, Prince was found guilty of a mass shooting that left three people dead. Prince received three consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole along with two consecutive life sentences for murdering three people and attempting to murder two others in a 2017 workplace shooting. New Castle County Police issued a Gold Alert, but to date detectives have received very little information and have followed up on all investigative leads. Both agencies are offering reward money, totaling $30,000, for information leading to the arrest of anyone responsible for Trader's abduction. The FBI is also launching a media campaign along the I-95 corridor with billboards from Maryland up to Connecticut. In March 2017, New Castle County Police announced that Nefertiri is presumed to be dead. Investigators did not announce what evidence they had to make said presumption, however they hoped their ruling would generate new leads in the case.
