Summary:

Randal Roberson, a 28-year-old from Jacksonville, Texas, disappeared on January 21, 2014, after leaving to meet someone in New Summerfield. His vehicle was found abandoned two days later but he has never been located. By 2016, investigators determined the disappearance was connected to narcotics trafficking involving methamphetamine.

Vital Statistics

Circumstances of Disappearance:

Randal Roberson was last seen around 5:30 p.m. on January 21, 2014. He left Jacksonville to meet someone in New Summerfield but never arrived at that location and has never returned to his home. His vehicle, a white 1995 Mercury Cougar, was found abandoned Thursday in New Summerfield. He was not found in the area where the car was recovered. The vehicle was in good condition, and there were no immediate signs of a struggle or accident.

Additional Details:

According to Detective James Oden's investigation, Roberson was involved in narcotics trafficking with a group of people responsible for what took place, specifically involving methamphetamine. As of April 2016, most of the people involved in the case were in custody and arrests for narcotics charges had been made through the investigation. Roberson's mother believed people were afraid to come forward because of retaliation concerns, though officers indicated the incident involved locals rather than drug cartels. Detective Oden stated in 2016 that investigators had "a very good idea where the body is." A grand jury indictment was expected in the near future. Roberson's family created a Facebook page titled "Bring Tussin Home Soon" for people to follow updates from the family.
