Vital Statistics
Circumstances of Disappearance:
Antoinette Renee Childress was last seen on October 13, 2015, at her trailer home in Henderson, Rusk County, Texas. In the weeks preceding her disappearance, her sister Patricia Nichols received strange Facebook messages from Childress's account. The first message, approximately one month before the disappearance, said there was an emergency and Childress needed her phone number. Three weeks later, Nichols received another message stating "Sister where are I, what's going on." On October 6, 2015, Nichols received a voice message from Childress's Facebook account discussing guardian angels, but the voice was not Childress's. Nichols left home after receiving this message and did not return until November 6, at which time she discovered Childress was missing. A few days after Childress was reported missing, police found her car being driven by a man in Henderson. He was arrested on an unrelated charge and claimed Childress had sold him the vehicle, a claim her family finds difficult to believe.
Additional Details:
At the time of her disappearance, Childress was seeing Felipe Villanueva, who is considered a person of interest in her case. Villanueva has multiple warrants for his arrest on drug-related charges and driving without a license; his current whereabouts are unknown. Two women allegedly contacted Childress's sister after her disappearance claiming they knew what had happened to her, stating that Childress had been involved in using and selling drugs, that bad people were angry with her, and that she was tortured and killed as a result. This information has not been verified by police according to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons Database (NamUs). Childress has a warrant out for her arrest, but she is considered a missing person rather than a fugitive. She had just gotten off probation at the time and was trying to clean up her life according to her family. Her case remains unsolved and foul play is suspected.
