A post-mortem examination revealed she had sustained 62 injuries on her body, with 21 to her head. She was believed to have been killed at approximately 5:30 a.m. that morning. Evidence suggested she had been throttled with a tree branch found nearby with blood on it. She had no defensive wounds. The cause of death was determined to be beating and strangulation.
