Amber Flack disappeared on September 1, 2016. Relatives said her boyfriend was the last person to see her before she vanished. "He said that she decided to take a walk, and that was the last time they'd seen her," according to her brother. She was last seen wearing blue jeans and a pink tank top. Amber called her father, Raymond Flack, every day, but after she vanished, she stopped calling him.

Detectives followed leads about Flack's whereabouts, even traveling to Lexington, Kentucky, but never found anyone who heard from the 30-year-old, according to Middletown police who said Flack was known to them for drug use and prostitution. Flack has a history of methamphetamine abuse. Flack knew English, and all five women had transient lifestyles and were involved with drug use and sex work, and all of them frequented the same area near Manchester Avenue and Central Avenue in Middletown. Authorities believe her case may be related to the disappearances of Brandy English and Melinda Miller, as well as the death of Michelle Burgan and the murder of Lindsay Bogan. English had assisted the police with the investigation into Bogan's disappearance, and her murder remains unsolved. The BCI Missing Persons Unit worked with Middletown police in an effort to find the missing women. All the cases remain unsolved and it isn't clear whether they are connected.
