Summary:

Raul had a cigarette outside at the Citgo gas station on Tidwell Street. A Guatemalan man drove up in a white vehicle w/ drugs remnants in it. He asked Raul what he was looking at. Raul responded “Nothing”. Raul finished his cigarette and began walking back to his friends. The man in the vehicle walked into the Citgo. Raul was next to the car wash and this man walked up behind him and shot him in the head. I tried calling his cell ,no response eventually an officer Dt. Hernandez picked up.

Vital Statistics

Circumstances of Offense:

Police thought it was drug related- no. Gang related-no. Other women- No except friends. Give witness names and numbers- nothing- even though I had talked with Victor and told me he was never contacted but willing to come forward with all he knew. Also the Taco stand man not contacted moved stand soon after incident. worked at Victorian Inn & Legacy Inn doing odd jobs- management is still the same.

Additional Details:

I dated Raul for some time and we moved in together after 6-7 months he started calling me, wifey. I called him, hubby. He had his problems and wasn't perfect. But I wasn't perfect either. We did argue like all couples. When we were together, we clicked and made each other better. We were better together than apart from each other. We discussed getting married for the piece of paper. We discussed having children. We discussed him visiting a friend that needed his help. No problem so he went. We were discussing him coming home for his birthday before Feb. 25th and my birthday Mar.3rd. And getting ours lives back on track. He said he needed to call back in two minutes he was walking home and next to the car wash. He was always on time when he hadn't heard from him. I called him no response until this man answered wanted to know who I was. I answered you are not Raul Garcia who are you? His response was this is Det. Hernandez and he has been shot in the head. I rushed to the crime seen which was horrific. Did not get any answers and told to go home. I stood there for what seem like forever, then dove home. Told I was not family since were common law and would be contacting true member-gave his mothers and sisters names. Diana identified the body. I wasn't told anything at that point. I was called a day before to be ready to go the service which I hadn't even told were this was happening. A crude service was given against Raul’s wishes. No friends, his children weren't told about the service or even his death. I was disappointed and distraught. HPD Case #22097517
