Delicia Annette Waddy, 24 years old, was last seen on March 9, 2017, in Doswell, Virginia, near Kings Dominion campgrounds. She disappeared from the Kings Dominion Camp Wilderness Campground after attempting to bargain for a space in the campground. Her silver Ford Explorer was found abandoned near the campground the next morning, and her cellular phone, purse, wallet, driver's license and other belongings were found scattered behind Meadow Event Park. She has never been seen or heard from again and has not contacted her family or friends since her disappearance, with her social media and bank accounts remaining inactive.

Circumstances of Disappearance:

Delecia Waddy disappeared from the Kings Dominion Camp Wilderness Campground in the 10000 block of Kings Dominion Boulevard in Doswell, Virginia at 11:30 a.m. on March 9, 2017. She tried to bargain for a space in the campground, but left without getting one. At 9:30 a.m. that day, Waddy was captured on surveillance camera at the Newbridge Village Apartments on Newbridge Road in Richmond, Virginia before leaving in her SUV. She was last seen walking on Route 30 east towards Caroline County from the Kings Dominion Camp Ground. Early the next morning, her silver Ford Explorer was found near the campground with gas and in working order. Her cellular phone, purse, wallet, driver's license and some other belongings were found scattered behind Meadow Event Park, near her abandoned vehicle.

Additional Details:

On March 9, 2017, at 5:00 am, Delecia Waddy left a cryptic social media post on her Facebook account that said "It's never too late to do the right thing. Don't get discouraged. Speaking to myself also." It's unclear what she meant by this and whether this had anything to do with her disappearance. A massive search was launched for Waddy, but the search effort was called off when witnesses said they saw her walking in a field off Route 30 in Caroline County, Virginia. Search dogs also tracked her scent to a home in the area, but no further clues as to her whereabouts were found. On March 12, 2017, Waddy was reportedly seen by an acquaintance, who didn't realize she was missing at the time, on Fendall Avenue in Richmond, Virginia, about twenty five miles away from Doswell. Investigators do not believe the 24-year-old woman is in danger. While she has not yet been located, the search has ended. Although several agencies are working together to find Delecia, the Caroline Sheriff's office is taking the lead. Her family denies that she would walk away from her life. She never exhibited behaviors like this before, and the family fears she may have been abducted.
