Vital Statistics
Circumstances of Disappearance:
On the evening of October 15, 2017, Jordan Holling left his job at A&W in Campbell River and went to a friend's apartment on 16th Avenue. He planned to stay the night and go directly to work the following day. According to friends, the evening was normal; they listened to music, played video games, and watched videos. At approximately 1:30 a.m. on October 16, 2017, Jordan left his friend's apartment to walk the short distance to his mother's house on 17th Avenue. About 30 minutes later, surveillance footage captured him walking north on a southbound stretch of Highway 19 near 14th Avenue in the Campbellton neighborhood of Campbell River at approximately 2:00 a.m. In the footage, a car driving in the opposite direction turned around and spoke with him; those occupants were later cleared by RCMP. The footage showed him walking for approximately two hours in the area near 15th Avenue and Willow Street. In his last known CCTV footage, he was no longer carrying his skateboard, which he had been carrying when he left his friend's place. Jordan never arrived home and did not show up for work later that day.
Additional Details:
When Jordan failed to show up for work and did not meet up with his sister later that day, his parents knew something was wrong. They immediately went to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police detachment in Campbell River and filed a missing person report on the evening of October 16, 2017. A missing-person alert was then issued. An extensive ground search was launched involving search dogs, volunteers from Campbell River Search and Rescue, and community members. They searched the area on foot, ATV, and on horseback, combing nearby parks and wilderness areas. Jordan's skateboard was located in the area where he was last seen, but no other evidence was found. Investigators looked through Jordan's cellphone and bank records; efforts to trace the cellphone were unsuccessful, and it has never been located. Police confiscated Jordan's laptop and sent it to Vancouver because it was encrypted, but experts did not find anything useful on it. The Campbell River RCMP stated that his disappearance was out of character for him and that his family believed he would never run away from home. According to The Doe Network, Jordan was likely intoxicated at the time of his disappearance, though he did not appear to be in distress or running from anyone in the footage. The RCMP has received numerous leads and tips over the years, including unconfirmed sightings at Nunns Creek Park and along Island Highway, but none have led to locating Jordan. His family distributed flyers with his image, had his case featured on billboards and in local media, and launched a Facebook page titled 'Missing: Jordan Alexander Holling' which remains active. Several vigils and community fundraising efforts have been held. As of 2025, the investigation remains open and ongoing, with the Campbell River RCMP continuing to receive and investigate all leads. The case is classified as a missing persons investigation.
