Wesley Brayman, age 37, was found dead inside a home near 28th and Laurel avenues in Omaha, Nebraska. A neighbor heard five or six shots around 3 a.m. and saw a man wearing all black run west on Laurel Avenue; the slaying may have occurred during the predawn hours. Wesley Brayman's body was found Monday morning by his two elementary-school-age sons, and according to witness reports, the slaying may have occurred a few hours earlier, during the predawn hours. Police were called to Johnnell Brayman's home at 5827 N. 28th Ave. just before 8:10 a.m. Monday and found Wesley Brayman inside. A neighbor reported hearing five or six shots about 3 a.m. Monday and saw a man wearing all black run west on Laurel Avenue. After finding their dad dead, the two boys, ages 7 and 8, ran to their school just a block to the south, Miller Park Elementary, and reported what happened.
Additional Details:
Wesley was taken from his family on June 25, 2018 while taking care of three of his children. He had worked as a painter and later as an auto mechanic. A former employer recalled that Brayman had visited him every day while he was hospitalized for a blood clot, even though he no longer worked for him. Police on Tuesday had not announced any arrests or described how Brayman might have died. As of 2019, Omaha police confirmed they don't have any updates and are seeking tips from the public. Wesley was a father of five; three boys and two girls. He was a husband of eighteen years, and Wesley was caring, loving, and friendly.
