Vital Statistics

Circumstances of Disappearance:

Twyla Evans, 39, was last seen alive on the evening of Sept. 6, 2019. Twyla was last seen on September 6, between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. at her residence in Wetaskiwin. She was on her way to see a movie but it is uncertain if she attended. Her green Jeep Compass was located unoccupied parked near the Safeway on September 7.

Additional Details:

The investigation remains active, and efforts are still ongoing to recover Evans' remains. The Alberta RCMP does not stop investigating in these circumstances and our team continues to work to bring Twyla home. Evans had been experiencing some mental health challenges she was working through, Campbell said. She loved driving her Jeep and planning outings with her son — he was a teenager when she went missing. He was arrested without incident on June 20 and remains in custody. His first court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday at the Court of King's Bench in Wetaskiwin. Stan Lee Cross was scheduled to enter his election and plea at the Wetaskiwin Court of Justice July 15, however, the matter has now been set over to July 31, 2025.
