Summary:
Dr. Dean Carl Maar was murdered (shot) during a home invasion on November 27, 2019 (Thanksgiving Eve) at around 6:15 p.m. He was preparing for Thanksgiving with his wife, when several armed attackers entered his secluded residence. His final act on this earth was to protect his family. He confronted the gunmen and made the ultimate sacrifice. He was extremely kind and well-liked, a “family man”, and an avid outdoorsman. He was also a skilled doctor who helped countless people.

Circumstances of Offense:
There was a home invasion at Dean’s residence on November 27, 2019 (Thanksgiving Eve) around 6:15 p.m. The police believe there were several gunmen/attackers. It seems notable that the residence is located on a private drive, and not easily visible from the road (see POI). Dean was shot; by the time police arrived Dean had already passed away, and a small fire had been intentionally lit inside the house.
Additional Details:
The Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office is in charge of the investigation. Anyone with information is supposed to call that agency (317) 745-4270 and refer to case number: 19-9241. The attackers apparently stole some unique guns from his collection, and they may be the key to solving his case: 1.) Limcat Razorcat 9mm; 2.) Limcat Wildcat 9mm and 3.) Wilson Combat Professional .45 cal.
