Circumstances of Disappearance:
Police say on Thursday, July 11, the department was notified of a missing person who was last seen on Saturday, July 6. According to the family and apartment complex surveillance cameras, Alwin Albright, 74, walked away from his residence at the Gates Apartments, located at 700 East Scott Street in Gilmer. He'd had a dispute with a neighbor and was last seen walking away from his home, which was at Gates Apartments in the 700 block of east Scott Street. He was headed in the direction of downtown. On July 6, 2019, Alwin allegedly tried to force his way in to his girlfriend's apartment. She called the police. When they showed up at the complex, Alwin walked off. He was last seen wearing a red polo shirt and blue jeans.
Additional Details:
Albright has medical problems that require medication, according to police. His medication was left at his residence. Family members say Albright has heart problems and they are concerned for his safety. Upshur County CrimeStoppers is offering up to $1,000 for information leading to Albright's location. Albright left his medications behind at home and has never been heard from again.
