Summary:
Armaidre Antwan Marquis Argumon, a four-week-old infant, disappeared on September 18, 2020, while under the care of his father, DeAndre Argumon, in Wells, Texas. His body remains missing, while his father has been sentenced to 15 years in prison on various charges related to the infant's disappearance. There have been no leads since his 2020 disappearance.
Vital Statistics
Circumstances of Disappearance:
Armaidre was last seen with his father, DeAndre Marquie Argumon, at his family's home in the 500 block of Old Forest Road in Wells, Texas at 8:30 a.m. on September 18, 2020. A relative left them alone while she went out to run an errand, and when she came back, both DeAndre and Armaidre were gone. He was last seen wearing a diaper. DeAndre Argumon left their home in Wells, Texas, at around 8:30 a.m., with the infant. When DeAndre was found later in the day, he was intoxicated and without Armaidre. He allegedly told police someone had taken the baby before changing his story to say Armaidre's mother had taken him. The mother had a solid alibi for her whereabouts at the time of the disappearance. She is not considered a suspect or person of interest in the case. Mr. Argumon traveled in a gray 2003 Ford Explorer in the Wells forest or Angelina community between the hours of 10:30 and 12:30 on September 18, 2020.
Additional Details:
During a Sept. 22, 2020, press conference, the Wells Police Department revealed the DeAndre had been arrested for endangering/abandoning a child and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The center was notified at 4:30 p.m. Friday and the Regional Amber Alert program was activated at 4:55 p.m. The Texas Rangers were then brought in, and Ranger Nick Castle began assisting in processing the scene and conducting interviews. The Cherokee County sheriff says he does not believe five-week-old baby Armaidre Argumon was kidnapped, but he says authorities also aren't entirely ruling that out either. The father has been charged with endangering and abandoning the child. We know he had last possession of the child and we believe that he has something to do with the child's disappearance. Cherokee County Sheriff Brent Dickson says the most recent area that they have searched is south of rusk. Dickson says they received a lead that the Argumon family owned land in the past, in the south Rusk area, but nothing was recovered. The AMBER Alert was discontinued on Oct. 2, 2020, but Armaidre still hasn't been found. On Sept. 9, 2021, DeAndre was sentenced to 15 years in prison for the endangering/abandoning a child charge and eight years for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle The sentences will run concurrently. He remains the lead suspect in his son's disappearance and has not been cooperative. Dickson said there are no new leads or information at this time.
