Investigators with the Independence Police Department and KBI have said they suspect foul play and believe Detreck was murdered. Detreck was in between jobs due to COVID-19 pandemic, but said he had landed a job at FedEx right before he disappeared. He communicated with family members via prepaid cell phones. The KBI has received information that makes them believe foul play is involved.
