Vital Statistics
Circumstances of Offense:
Jeffery Glenn Wilhite, a 59-year-old Vinemont resident, went missing from the West Point community on April 3, 2020. Wilhite worked as an employee of Hogan on a small farm. Wilhite's girlfriend located his phone and truck at the farm prior to him being reported missing. According to the indictment, Hogan is accused of murdering Wilhite on April 2, 2020. Hogan sent a text message threatening to harm Wilhite roughly a week before his disappearance. Hogan has also been accused of discharging a firearm into an unoccupied 1997 Ford Ranger and placing Jeffery Dye in fear of immediate serious physical injury by brandishing a firearm on April 2, 2020, the day before Wilhite was reported missing.
Additional Details:
Hogan was arrested on Oct. 30, 2023, pursuant to the grand jury indictment. Hogan was arrested in 2024 and pleaded guilty to menacing charges and reckless endangerment in a separate case in March 2026. He allegedly abused Wilhite's corpse and then removed or concealed multiple items of physical evidence in the murder. A .45 caliber projectile was recovered from the "egg room" which matched a second projectile investigators recovered from a vehicle belonging to Jeff Dye, who has accused Hogan of discharging a firearm into the vehicle the day before Wilhite was reported missing. Investigators say they have not found Wilhite's body, but gathered enough evidence over the last three years to arrest Hogan. Gentry testified Hogan has been labeled as a "threat to law enforcement" based on encounters between the two, one in which "he referred to a female deputy by a derogatory name and cursed her." Hogan's ex-wife mentioned Wilhite's disappearance as part of her petition for protection from abuse submitted in Morgan County, identifying Hogan as the primary suspect in the disappearance of one his employees, noting he was arrested for menacing and shooting into an unoccupied dwelling.
