Dayvon Gordon, age 34, has been a fugitive since shortly after the October 27, 2020 homicide of 22-year-old Andre Lamont Cox Jr. in Landover, Maryland. Gordon is the alleged shooter involved in the October 2020 death of Andre Lamont Cox Jr. Police believe Gordon has managed to stay on the run for nearly six years with the assistance of others.

Circumstances of Offense:

On October 27, 2020, officers responded to the 3200 block of 75th Avenue for a shooting. Officers found Cox outside with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Detectives believe Andre Cox Jr. was targeted and that the suspect went to the apartment complex with the intent to shoot him. A rifle was recovered in the case. The suspects and victim were known to each other. Detectives believe the suspects shot the victim over a dispute.

An arrest warrant for 34-year-old Dayvon Gordon was obtained shortly after the murder of 22-year-old Andre Lamont Cox Jr., in Landover. Police identified two suspects, including Gordon. Officers arrested the other suspect, Tahj Vandy, who's now awaiting sentencing in this case, shortly after the shooting; however, efforts to locate Gordon have been unsuccessful. Investigators linked Gordon to the crime using witness statements, surveillance video and evidence found at the scene, including the weapon. It's believed he is being assisted by an individual(s) in his efforts to evade arrest. Gordon is known to frequent Oxon Hill, southeast DC, Landover, south Baltimore and northwest Baltimore's Park Heights community. Police released two photos of Gordon, who they say changed his appearance after the shooting. Family members remember Andre Jr. as a bright young man who worked at GW Hospital, who loved cars and playing ball.
