Vital Statistics
Circumstances of Disappearance:
On the morning of June 19, 2020, Lauren Dumolo's live-in boyfriend, Gabriel Pena, left for work around 6:00 am, with Lauren sleeping so he kissed her and quietly left from their apartment at 4927 Coronado Parkway in Cape Coral, Florida. A maintenance worker at the Coronado Apartment Complex saw Lauren that morning around 8:15 am when she asked him if he knew of any cheaper apartments in the area, saying she wanted to get out of the situation she was in. Dumolo, or someone using her phone, made a Facebook Video call to Pena's phone between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m., but he didn't answer, and this is the last sign of her. She left her cellular phone behind at the apartment and has never been heard from again. That same day, her purse was found at Four Freedoms Park in the 4800 block of Tarpon Court, where she often went to meditate. On July 2, Dumolo's shirt was found by the waterline at the park, which had been previously searched multiple times and the shirt had not been seen then; it's possible it was planted there.
Additional Details:
Lauren's status as a missing person was changed to a missing person endangered on June 24. In the days before Dumolo disappeared, she was involuntarily hospitalized twice because she was hearing voices and believed people were after her, and she was released from the hospital the last time on June 18, the day before she went missing. Her sister thinks her issues may have been caused by emotional trauma due to a recent abortion. Surveillance video showed Dumolo submitting an application to a gas station on June 18, 2020. Police confirmed that Gabby passed a polygraph and has an alibi for June 19th, and they say there's no evidence linking him to Lauren's disappearance. Police confirmed that Gabby passed a polygraph and has an alibi for June 19th, with Detective Jones telling investigation discovery that police used phone records and GPS tracking to determine that Gabby was not even in Cape Coral at all during the day on June 19th, as he was working at a construction site an hour away in Marco Island. Detective Jones named three other people that police have been investigating in connection to Lauren's disappearance, and one of them is Carl Crow, a convicted drug dealer and has been arrested a bunch of times. The Cape Coral Police Department states the case of Lauren Dumolo remains an active priority, and they are steadfast in their efforts to bring closure for her family and our community. Dumolo's case has been featured on national platforms and podcasts, with the hope of finding any kind of lead on where she might be, and there is also a "Bring Lauren Dumolo Home" Facebook group with nearly 4,000 members.
