Circumstances of Offense:
Daniel and a fellow gang member walked by a group of teenagers at a park. The two gang members had felt the teenagers had disrespected their gang. As the teens were leaving the park, the gang members told the teens to empty their pockets. This led to a fight between the gang members and the teens. The teens then ran away, and Daniel allegedly shot Rodrigo in the back, killing him. Daniel’s co-defendant pleaded guilty to lesser charges in September of 2024. He received a sentence of 21 years. Daniel still has an active murder warrant, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s warrants database.
