Vital Statistics
Circumstances of Offense:
Brady’s family told the media that he drove to the town of Portales but got caught up in a drug deal. Authorities say that several suspects attempted to rob the occupants of Brady’s vehicle. During the robbery, a 14-year-old juvenile allegedly shot Brady to death. Several suspects were arrested, including Diego Morales. After being indicted on First Degree Murder charges, New Mexico’s court records database confirmed that he violated his bail agreement and became a fugitive. A second adult suspect was convicted of Second Degree Murder and related charges in 2021 and received a sentence of 33 years. Diego was featured in a 02/28/2024 news article about wanted fugitives in Roosevelt County, New Mexico. As of this posting, Diego’s 1st Degree Murder case in New Mexico’s court records database has no disposition and no filings since 2021. This confirms that Diego is still a fugitive.
Additional Details:
Anyone with information on Diego’s whereabouts should contact Crime Stoppers Of Roosevelt County at (575) 356-8100. Please consider sharing this so that Brady’s family can get justice and answers in their loved one’s case. Brady’s family said that their loved one was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Regardless, homicides linked to criminal activity are not an excuse for murder and it was the decision of the robbers to take Brady’s life.
