Summary:

Jerome Smith is wanted for the homicide of Dexter Rentz.

Vital Statistics

Circumstances of Offense:

Dexter was preparing to drive away from his grandfather’s residence following a funeral. He was tragically caught up in a drive-by shooting where he was one of four people who were shot. Among the victims who were wounded was an unnamed rapper and the shooting was believed to have been the result of a “rap beef”. Dexter was a professional football player who had nothing to do with the “rap beef”. Several suspects have since been arrested for their alleged roles in this crime. Four years after the homicide, Jerome was charged with Second Degree Murder, Conspiracy and Racketeering. As of this posting, Jerome’s case in Orange County’s court records database is in “Capias/warrant” status, meaning he is still wanted for his alleged involvement in this crime.

Additional Details:

Anyone with information on Jerome’s whereabouts should contact Crimeline (to be eligible for the potential reward) at 800-423-TIPS (8477). Jerome should be considered very dangerous. Please consider sharing this so that Dexter’s family can get justice and answers in their loved one’s case.
