On Saturday, February 6, 2021, at approximately 6:09 p.m., Hughson Police Services officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of Charles Street in response to a report of assault and battery at a residence. Upon arrival, officers found Jesus Duarte, a 42-year-old Hughson resident, suffering from critical stab wounds sustained during an evening domestic fight. Renato Gadino Valdovinos, 36 years old, was present at the scene but fled before police arrived. Paramedics transported Duarte to the hospital, but he died during transport.
Additional Details:
Following the incident, Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office homicide detectives took over the investigation and identified Valdovinos as the suspect. In addition to the homicide charge, Valdovinos was also wanted by U.S. Federal Probation for violating his probation conditions. Stanislaus Area Crime Stoppers offered a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to his capture.
