Circumstances of Offense:
Oscar and his wife were driving around in a neighbourhood, looking for a house to buy. A group of gang members in another vehicle flashed gang signs at Oscar. It is believed that the gang members mistook Oscar’s vehicle for a vehicle that was used in an earlier shooting. Oscar who had no ties to gangs drove away. The gang members went after Oscar and authorities say they shot Oscar to death and wounded Oscar’s wife. Authorities have since arrested two adults and one juvenile co-defendant. The juvenile pled guilty to being one of the two shooters and was sentenced as an adult to 15 years. Andres is still wanted as the alleged second shooter.
