Summary:
On August 1, 2021, at approximately 3:53 AM, KPD Officers were dispatched to the 3900 Block of W. Trimmier Road about an unknown trouble. Upon arrival, Officers discovered a deceased person inside the Circle K/Valero. There was no evidence of a robbery and the deceased was identified as the sole employee working on that date.

On August 1, 2021, at approximately 3:53 PM, officers were dispatched to 3900 W Trimmier Road (Valero) following a report of an unknown circumstance. The caller stated that they noticed no employees were present upon entering the store and observed shell casings inside. Upon arrival, officers encountered several individuals outside the business. The caller confirmed they had seen shell casings inside but had not seen any employees. Officers entered the establishment and conducted a safety sweep. Inside, they observed multiple spent shell casings on the floor. The officer then discovered a male victim lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was later identified as an employee based on his uniform. After an extensive investigation, there have been minimal leads to identify the suspect. The suspect in the homicide at the Valero gas station on August 1, 2021, is described as follows: Gender: Male Height: Approximately 5’9” to 6’0” Build: Slim Clothing: Dark Blue Jacket, Black Polo, Dark Blue Jeans, White Tennis Shoes, Black Beenie, and Black Mask (covering the face) Weapon Used: Handgun (9mm, based on shell casings found at the scene) Behavior: Entered the store at 3:29 a.m. Walked directly toward the victim. Pulled a handgun from his jacket pocket and opened fire immediately Continued shooting even after the victim fell. Fled the scene immediately after the attack. Additional Observations: The suspect’s face was covered, making identification difficult. CCTV footage captured his movements, but exterior footage was blurry. The suspect did not interact with anyone else before or after the shooting. There were no witnesses present inside the store at the time of the attack. The investigation is ongoing as law enforcement works to identify and locate the suspect
