Kathleen Spanel was reported missing Sept. 18 after walking away from her home on County Road 3214. Spanel is said to be weak and confused. She left home without medicine, money, her I.D., food, or water. There have been no developments in the search, which is receiving assistance from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

Circumstances of Disappearance:
Police say she apparently walked away from her home about 7:40 AM Sunday morning at 1121 CR 3214 in Atlanta Texas, just off State Highway 77. Kathleen Spanel is described as 64-years-old, 5′6″, 160 pounds, grey and white hair, blue eyes. She was wearing a purple shirt, blue jeans, and tennis shoes. Spanel is described as very weak and frail, she does suffer from hallucinations, but she is nonviolent. The Cass County Sheriff's Department and Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Wardens began searching for a missing woman named Kathleen Spanel, then around 2:30 Sunday afternoon an official Silver Alert was issued from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Additional Details:
Sheriff Larry Rowe said there have been no developments in the search, which is receiving assistance from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. This statement was made in late November 2022, more than two months after Spanel's disappearance. No subsequent news reports indicate she has been located.
