Vital Statistics
Circumstances of Offense:
On June 19, 2022, Miller told her roommate in Sedona she was going to Jerome for a meeting and left the house in a rush. The roommate told police Miller left in a nice outfit, including white pearls, and believed she was possibly meeting someone for a date. Inside the car, investigators found Miller's purse with her license, Social Security card, credit card, and keys, and the police report said Miller's bank told investigators the last activity on her account was a withdrawal on the 19th, the last day anyone saw her. Yolan Miller never showed up to work after that day and missed a scheduled doctor's appointment. Miller's vehicle was found on the Hancock ranch near the Honaki Heritage Site on Forest Service Road 525 on Sunday, June 24, 2022.
Additional Details:
Miller worked in the floral department at the Sedona Safeway and, while she has autism, she was high-functioning and able to live a normal life. Her cell phone pinged at 9:20 pm on the Sunday she went missing at the Mingus Mountain cell tower, but because she didn't ping on any other cell towers, investigators couldn't triangulate her location. A $5,000 reward was being offered by her family for information leading to Yolan Miller's discovery or to the arrest of anyone involved in her disappearance. Her remains were located October 17, 2025. Yolan Miller's remains were found in Sycamore Canyon in October 2025, approximately 20 miles from where her car was located. Positive identification was made on March 9, 2026. The case remains under active investigation. With Miller's remains found outside of Sedona city limits in Coconino County on Oct. 17, the investigation is under the jurisdiction of the CCSO out of Flagstaff; the Sedona Police Department is no longer involved. The cause of death has not been determined, as only partial remains were found.
