Vital Statistics
Circumstances of Disappearance:
Graham Lacher disappeared around 4:40 p.m. on June 6, 2022, after he ran into the woods while on a supervised walk with a staff member at the Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center in Bangor, Maine. Graham Lacher leaves Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center at 4:40 p.m. Bangor police conduct 2-hour search of the area Lacher is seen on camera at 6 p.m. in the woods behind DDPC. Afterwards, Lacher is known to have entered the woods off the Sylvan Road walking trail, which borders the Exit 186 area of Interstate 95. A K9 track was attempted that ended in the area of Eastern Maine Community College. Six weeks after his disappearance, Lacher's hat was found off Dartmouth Street just inside the woodline.
Additional Details:
Mr. Lacher is diagnosed with schizophrenia and autism. Because of his severe mental illness, Lacher may not speak and may avoid contact with others. Lacher speaks multiple languages. Prior to his disappearance, Lacher had studied philosophy. Lacher, who his mother said was diagnosed as schizophrenic and who also is on the autism spectrum, was previously at a group home in Norridgewock but walked away from there in November and was missing for a couple of days before being found in Waterville. In August, his family offered a $500 reward for information reuniting them with Lacher. That reward was raised a month later to $2,500, and has since been raised to $3,500. Family (herein referred to as "Makers") is offering a $10,000 reward (herein referred to as "Reward") for the first tip that leads directly to the safe return of Graham Lacher. This reward is being offered until December 31, 2024. Bangor police decided to take a more "passive role" in the search for Graham on July 6, 2022, Tammy said, but a detective assigned to Graham's case will check credible potential sightings when necessary. She and her husband, Jack Scully, and Graham's stepmother, Kim Lacher, are being helped by two other key people: volunteers Brandy St. Louis Baron of Veazie and Robert Kearns of Bangor. "That's it—five people trying to cover the entire state of Maine," says Scully. Though he's still missing, Graham's face and story remain present through car magnets, yard signs and missing posters displayed in hundreds of businesses throughout Maine. Despite the passing of the years, Tammy Lacher Scully says she and her family have not given up hope and are still searching for any information on Graham's whereabouts.
