Circumstances of Death:

Casey went out with Nicholas Heino to a local bar in Superior, Wisconsin on January 16, 2022. This has been confirmed by bar footage. That night, they stayed at Nicholas’ grandmother’s house. Nicholas had “made moonshine” in the past and they had some of that. Casey went home to his grandmother’s house in Aurora, Minnesota. On January 17, 2022, Casey began to feel unwell. Soon after he said he couldn’t see and his grandmother rushed him to the Aurora emergency room. It was determined he had methanol poisoning. Methanol is the main ingredient in antifreeze. Aurora did not have Fomepizole to reverse the effects of the methanol. The decision was made to transfer Casey to St. Mary’s hospital in Duluth, Minnesota. Life flight was down due to weather and he was transported by ambulance. Casey was hospitalized from that point on, until his passing on February 10, 2022. Nicholas worked on the psych ward at St. Mary’s and was caught looking in Casey’s medical charts. Nicholas’ grandmother had already washed the cups they used to drink the “moonshine”. Casey had previously stated to friends and family that he felt Nicholas was weird and possessive over him and would get mad when they didn’t hang out, despite Casey telling him repeatedly he didn’t want a relationship. Immediately after Casey’s death, Nicholas relocated to the Minneapolis area. Police were contacted and there was some confusion over whose jurisdiction it was. There have been no arrests, nor has there been any conclusion to any investigation, if there was one.
