Circumstances of Offense:
Authorities allege that Kalani was driving over 90 mph while intoxicated. He then allegedly crashed into Nena’s vehicle, killing her. Kalani then fled the scene without rendering aid or identifying himself. Kalani had previously been convicted of murdering a man during a drug deal turned robbery. Kalani was also linked to two similar shootings where one victim was paralyzed and another was left blind. Kalani served two-and-a-half years on a murder conviction in juvenile detention.
