Tacoma Police Department detectives need your help to identify the suspects) responsible for the murder of 44-year-old Nicholas "Skinny" Ahlstrand. On Aug. 24, 2022, at approximately 6:33 p.m., officers were dispatched to a drive-by shooting at 3611 S. 31st St. Upon arrival, they located the victim, Ahlstrand, in the residence with a gunshot wound to his chest. Ahlstrand died at the scene. Detectives identified a stolen Ford F-350, which fired several shots towards the residence. They recovered the truck after it was set on fire in the 300 block of Mineral Hill Road in Lewis County. Detectives learned that the suspects) may have also been associated with a silver convertible BMW sedan (likely stolen) at the time of the homicide.
