Summary:
Rigoberto Covarrubias is wanted for the homicides of his 23-year-old girlfriend, Yesli Velazquez and her six-year-old son Angel. Rigoberto is not Angel’s biological father.

Circumstances of Offense:
Authorities allege that Rigoberto shot both Yesli and Angel to death. There had been evidence of previous domestic abuse before the homicides. Rigoberto was immediately named a suspect in the case and charges for two counts of murder were filed the following month. In March of 2023, Los Angeles County’s court records database confirms his warrant was updated to have no bail amount (meaning he is required to remain in jail after his arrest). Later that month, the family of Yesli and Angel posted a video to TikTok requesting assistance with bringing Rigoberto to justice. As of this posting, the court records database also shows no disposition, events or proceedings after the warrant was updated. He is also not in the custody of the Los Angeles County jail. All of this unfortunately confirms that Rigoberto is still a fugitive. Rigoberto has ties to Texas and the Mexican state of Zacatecas.
