Nicholas had just gotten out of his car outside a music studio when Miquae allegedly shot Nicholas to death. Miquae and Nicholas did not know each other, so the motive for the crime is not known. There was no altercation and Nicholas did not have a weapon. Nicholas’s parents have speculated on whether he was killed as a result of mistaken identity.
