The case goes back to 2019 when an undercover detective answered an online ad to meet a 14-year-old girl in an unnamed Atlantic City casino hotel. Ross was arrested on November 27, 2019, and Davis on January 17, 2020. On Tuesday, January 28, 2020, the State Police arrested Kurt C. Young, 52, of South Dennis Township, N.J., a retired state correction officer, for allegedly engaging in sexual acts with the 14-year-old girl in his home. A 14-year-old victim identified Young in a photo array and was able to describe the inside of his Delsea Drive home. He allegedly arranged with Tiffany Davis for the girl to be transported to his home for sex in exchange for money. Young was first held in the Cape May County jail, but was released following a detention hearing.
Additional Details:
On October 20, 2020, a state grand jury brought an indictment against all three defendants for human trafficking-related charges. Ross and Davis both pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit human trafficking (1st degree) and facilitating human trafficking (2nd degree). On August 30, 2023, Ross was sentenced to 20 years in state prison, and ordered to pay a $15,000 fine. On November 1, 2023, Davis was sentenced to 15 years in state prison. In September 2023, Young was due to be tried on his charges, including conspiracy to commit human trafficking (1st degree), engaging in prostitution with a child (2nd degree), sexual assault (2nd degree), and endangering the welfare of a child (3rd degree). Young skipped out during jury selection for his trial in Cape May County and has been on the run since. Kurt Young from Dennis Township, a former NJ corrections officer, never appeared in court to face charges of paying for sex with a trafficked minor. As of this posting, Young is on the New Jersey State Police’s Most Wanted List.
