Tee was last seen walking away from her residence in the vicinity of Lewis Field on Main Street in Brookfield, Massachusetts at 8:30 p.m. on January 10, 2023. Brittany Tee's family last saw her on Monday, January 9, 2023, when she visited her mother, Susan's house. The next night, Susan spoke to Brittany for the last time. "I spoke with her 8 o'clock on Tuesday night, and she seemed upset, something was bothering her. But she didn't want to talk about it," Susan Tee said. On January 12th, 2023, Brittany's mother sent a text message to Brittany's boyfriend, asking if she was okay since she had not answered any of her family member's calls or texts for the past two days, nor had she shown up to receive her monthly medical injection to treat her psoriasis. The boyfriend called Brittany's mother a short time later, saying that he had not seen her either; he thought she had been with them. Brittany's mother Susan reported her missing on Friday, January 13, 2023 when they realized that no one could account for Brittany's whereabouts over the previous two days. May have been wearing a black jacket, gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and tan work boots. She did have her iPad, wallet and cellular phone with her when she went missing; the phone last pinged near the Brookfield State Police Barracks on Route 9. She left her car behind; it was not in running condition.

At the time of her disappearance, Tee worked as a manager at Bay Path Spirits, a local liquor store, and lived with her boyfriend. She had previously worked at Bay Path Spirits, a liquor store in Brookfield, and she was a familiar face to many at the shop, but she left her management position there in early 2022 and had since been unemployed. Brittany's last contact with her family occurred shortly before her disappearance, during which she exhibited emotional distress but offered no explanation. Despite multiple search efforts, including the use of helicopters, drones, and canine units, no trace of Brittany has been found. On January 17, 2023, the search was expanded to an area about a mile radius from her home, and was expanded further the following day, according to the Massachusetts State Police. Authorities stated there was no evidence of foul play in her case, and the boyfriend has cooperated with the investigation and isn't a suspect. Brittany took her cell phone with her, however the SIM card had been removed and left behind. In the last year, there have been more than 10 searches for Tee which have covered more than 4,700 acres. Search crews were on the ground as recent as last month. "This is using ongoing tips that are coming in, going back and revisiting areas, making sure the coverage; weather is always a factor." In 2024, her family enlisted Private Investigations for the Missing for help. A private investigator is now more than two months into working on uncovering what happened to Brittany Tee on January 10, 2023. "This being relatively new, there are still people who should be talked to and need to be talked to," Private Investigations for the Missing case manager, Lou Barry, said. "We are uncovering new names all the time." They have learned new information, and they've shared it with state police. "We have come up with some new information that we've passed along and that they have latched on to and followed up with."
