Vital Statistics
Circumstances of Offense:
Hilda Gurrola, 34, was stabbed to death at her home in Balch Springs on Tuesday. Hilda Gurrola had left with their three young children to live with her extended family in Fredericksburg a week prior. Then, at his insistence, she returned to the home in Balch Springs this past Tuesday to retrieve her belongings. Gricelda Gurrola Llanas, the victim's sister, told KDFW: "She got frustrated because he kept telling her, 'Hey come inside and get your shoes. Come inside and get the shoes.' She went inside and got the shoes and, unfortunately, he pulled her in between the washer and dryer that's located in their kitchen. And between the washer and dryer he just pushed her back and started stabbing her to death." Police said Ms. Gurrola was stabbed 14 times during the deadly incident. Ms. Llanas said her other sister tried to stop the attack while inside the home, but Mr. Pardo continued with the stabbing and fled the scene afterward. Police responded to a stabbing call at 5:18 p.m. at a home on Erich Drive, near I-635 and Elam Road. The couple had three children together — two daughters, ages 12 and 10, and a three-year-old son. The family said the toddler son witnessed the attack.
Additional Details:
Hilda Gurrola told her sister that Pardo had suddenly become controlling, obsessive and abusive. Family members told local Fox affiliate KDFW that Ms. Gurrola was moving out of the home that day as she sought to end her 14-year marriage. Police say Luis Pardo then stole that other sister's pickup truck and fled before police could arrive. The vehicle was found in El Paso. Pardo is not a U.S. citizen and has family in Zacatecas in central Mexico. The couple's three young children—ages 12, 10, and 3—are safe and at an undisclosed location. In February 2024, Dallas County court records show a grand jury indictment was issued in Pardo’s case. As of November 2026, the murder case is in inactive status with no filings about Pardo’s custody status or trial proceedings. This unfortunately confirms that Pardo is still at large. Please consider sharing this so that the Gurrola family, especially Hilda’s three children can get justice and answers in their loved one’s case.
