Authorities say that Amir showed up at Shakeia’s housing complex, even though Shakeia had ended their relationship. Amir proceeded to chase Shakeia around the complex and allegedly shot her to death. Shakeia left behind a three-year-old daughter. Shakeia’s sister and father have told the media that Amir had been possessive and aggressive towards Shakeia. In the hours after the homicide, Amir texted “It was nice knowing you” to Shakeia’s father.
