Authorities allege that Samuel shot Nancy inside their apartment where three of her four children were present. The shooting was captured on the couple’s personal surveillance cameras. Nancy fought for her life at a hospital, but died from her injuries six days after being shot. Samuel is believed to have fled to his native country of Mexico. He is originally from the village of Bocas in the state of San Luis Potosí. Nancy’s family believes that Samuel’s family and friends are helping him while he is an at-large fugitive. Samuel is still at large according to a news article from September 10, 2025.
