Vital Statistics

Circumstances of Offense:

On December 21, 2024, at approximately 7 p.m., officers responded to a shooting call at a residence on Creeldale Drive in unincorporated Norcross. The call was made using a language interpretation service and reported that a woman had been shot. Upon arrival, emergency responders from the Gwinnett County Fire Department found Jackmerly Jouselis Hernandez-Rodriguez, 31, deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. She had been shot multiple times. Morillo and Hernandez-Rodriguez, though divorced, were living at the same residence at the time of the incident. Multiple witnesses were present inside the home during the shooting. The incident was determined to be domestic-related. Morillo fled the scene in a 2016 black Toyota Corolla with a missing passenger-side hubcap and temporary license plate S2110371.

Additional Details:

Detectives identified Morillo as the suspect shortly after the shooting and issued warrants for his arrest. By December 26, 2024, his vehicle was located unoccupied and was being processed for evidence. As of April 2026, Morillo remained at large, and the Gwinnett County Police Department engaged federal partners to assist in locating him. Public court records confirm that Morillo’s criminal cases are in pre-file status with no events since 2024, meaning he is still at large. The couple shared a 10-year-old son who witnessed the incident, leaving the child traumatized. Hernandez-Rodriguez had immigrated from Venezuela to the United States in January 2024. Her family, including her brother who lives in Venezuela, expressed grief and requested justice. A nonprofit organization called WeLatinos was working with the Hernandez-Rodriguez family to support them.
