Summary:

Hector Vicente Paguada Paguada is wanted for the capital murder of two women on January 19, 2024, in Irving, Texas. He allegedly shot and killed 23-year-old Nayeli Bolanos Medina and her mother, 55-year-old Juana Medina Rodriguez, at their apartment at Park Springs in Irving with a 5-year-old child witnessing the shooting. Paguada fled the scene and remains a fugitive sought by the FBI.

Circumstances of Offense:

The shooting was reported at 8:50 p.m. in the 2000 block of West Irving Boulevard at Park Springs Apartments. Police have identified the shooting victims as 55-year-old Juana Medina Rodriguez and 23-year-old Nayeli Bolanos Medina. Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene and Medina died from her injuries at a local hospital. According to police, Paguada was Medina's boyfriend. Medina's 5-year-old son witnessed the shooting and told investigators Paguada killed the two women in front of him as they were fighting. Through witness interviews, investigators learned the two had been in several fights over a car title, which she purchased from Paguada. Matute fled the scene before officers arrived.

He was arrested by Irving police in 2016 for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old and getting her pregnant, and he served probation. The FBI and other federal agencies are helping in the search. Police are also working with the Honduran embassy since Paguada is originally from Honduras. Paguada called Nicolle Martinez Tome the night of the murders and ultimately "admitted to her that he killed two women that Friday night." Two women were allegedly paid $100 to get rid of Paguada's SUV. 34-year-old Nicolle Martinez Tome and 30-year-old Yudi Mabel Paguada Ruiz were both arrested for "Tampering With of Fabricating Physical Evidence." 32-year-old Yeferi Josue Aguilera Hernandez was arrested on Feb. 20 in connection to the investigation and search for Hector Matute (aka Hector Paguada), who is wanted for capital murder. Hernandez was arrested for "hindering apprehension of a known felon," police said. While executing a search warrant for Hernandez's phone, police said they found various images and videos that contained child pornography. Hernandez was also charged with possession of child pornography, a first-degree felony. On April 30, the Irving Police Department arrested 30-year-old Escarleth Mejia, accusing her of helping the suspected gunman, Hector Vicente Paguada, evade police before helping him flee the city. As of August 2026, Paguada is now on the FBI’s website.
