Last seen on Thursday in Bradenton, Tamanis-Peralta is undocumented and originally from Mexico. The Martin County Sheriff's Office obtained a credible tip that suspected child rapist Jesus Tamanis-Peralta was seen in McAllen, Texas on Sunday, Dec. 15 about 10 miles away from the border. Detectives have highlighted Tamanis-Peralta's connections to specific locales within the area, including the Monterey neighborhood in Stuart, and the Manatee Creek community. Tamanis-Peralta faces capital felonies and, if convicted, could spend his life in prison. MCSO is working closely with the U.S. Marshals Service, the FBI and border agents. Sheriff's concern extends beyond the immediate case, fearing that there could be additional victims. As of this posting, Tamanis-Peralta has an active warrant in the FDLE warrant database.
